I’ll admit it: when we first starting cloth diapering, I was a little daunted at the thought of taking my love of cloth out of our house. I’m sure many people either don’t use cloth at all because of this fear or simply use disposables when they leave the house. We travel very frequently and I really, really don’t like using ‘sposies (from now on I’ll refer to disposables affectionately as ‘sposies). So I sucked it up and refused to use ‘sposies. This was really interesting when we recently flew from South Dakota to Tampa, Florida on vacation for a week.
It was a lot easier than I thought it would be! Of course, we stayed with my brother-in-law and his family so we had a washer and dryer at our disposal (that they very graciously allowed us to use). I brought a lot of cloth diaper safe laundry samples. In my carry-on bag, I even packed my wool dryer balls! My son is notorious for exploding out of ‘sposies when he poops, so I was so happy I could avoid that while away from home. Flushable liners are also a God-send if you’re away from your Spray Pal and diaper sprayer! We love them! Using cloth diapers in any situation is possible, if you make it a priority. But don’t feel bad if you do use ‘sposies for a little while; you can always jump back on the wagon! Where have you used cloth?
I recently purchased several Lalabye Baby diapers on sale on Black Friday. I had been wanting to try them for a while, but I was waiting for a really great deal. I bought mine at Dream Diapers (http://www.dreamdiapers.com/). I purchased several different prints, and I’m very pleased with the quality. They are about to release new prints, which I’m very excited about!
Here’s a little about the company from their site:
Lalabye Baby is a modern cloth diapering company dreamed up by a mom with a vision! Desiring to combine a love for cloth diapers and a passion for design, Lalabye Baby was created to provide a high quality, safe, eco-friendly diaper at an affordable price. Along with our diapers, we hope to bring an awareness to the alarming amount of waste being produced by disposable diapers. We look forward to all that God has planned for Lalabye Baby and appreciate your input and feedback!
Our diapers are one size pocket diaper designed to be used from newborn through potty training! Using 100% Natural Bamboo Fibers and PUL (waterproof fabric) Lalabye baby’s diapers’ are among the best. Our diapers are designed in the USA and manufactured overseas. Utilizing our global resources we custom create and design our diapers with your baby and ours in mind.
I love how soft and absorbent the bamboo inserts are. These have worked wonderfully for me as a nighttime diaper, but I also love using them during the day. These diapers even fit under my son’s jeans! There is also a panel of PUL along the inner tummy area; this helps prevent leaks for those tummy sleepers! The PUL is also really soft. I was suprised at how soft it is. Overall, I am incredibly pleased with my purchase and I would certainly buy more of these diapers. They are a wonderful addition to any cloth diaper stash! (Pictured is the “EIEIO” print. I love it!)
If you’re a fan of the old style bumGenius! Elementals, then rush over to their page and pick some up! They have limited stock, and the price per diaper will drop 50 cents every day until January 6th. $17.95 is as low as they’ll go, so pick one up while you can!
This is my son in his “Getting to Gnome You” Omni. I absolutely love it! We bought it at Dream Diapers (a fabulous store!). To check out Dream Diapers’ online store, click on my son’s picture!
I wasn’t too sure I would like Softbums before I tried one because I had only used diapers with a snap rise adjustment before. But now that I’ve tried it, I want to add many more to my stash! This is a diaper that is truly one size! I have played with the Slide2Size adjustment, and I know this will fit my next newborn. The Omni doubles as an All-in-2 and a Pocket diaper, depending on your preference. I like to shake things up sometimes, so if I feel like a pocket for nighttime (so my son feels dry all night long) Softbums lets me do that! Or I can use it as an All-in-2 and reuse the shell all day as long as it isn’t soiled or wet. I really can’t say enough good things about this diaper. I am just so happy with it! I’m only sad that I have not tried them until now! If you have never used one on your baby, I highly recommend giving them a try! There isn’t a single negative thing I can think of to say!
Pancakes Squares – yum!
This morning for breakfast I made these with some maple sausage links. They were delicious! Instead of using butter and milk, I substituted 3/4 cup of buttermilk (because I had some buttermilk that I wanted to get rid of). I will definitely be making these again. They were less time consuming and way easier than round pancakes.
