I alternate between the Ju-Ju-Be Be Prepared (in Scarlet Petals) and BFF (in Shadow Waltz), depending on where we’re going. I’ve found that the BFF is for shorter, quick trips like to church or shopping for groceries. The Be Prepared really accomodates all our needs and what we need to pack for a toddler and a newborn. Plus, I’m an overpacker.
I always have some emergency disposable diapers and wipes in a Be Quick, along with a disposable changing pad and Clorox wipes for those really gross gas station changing tables. Both diaper bags came with a changing pad, but I only use those when I’m less scared of the germs on the changing surface. We use cloth diapers so there are always plenty of those in the diaper bag; the amount depends on how long we’re going to be out. I also use a mini Planet Wise wet bag for cloth wipes; I use those for diaper changes, spit up, and toddler clean-up. Also, I love the little sample jars of CJ’s BUTTer for any scrapes or diaper rash that my kids may encounter.
In another Be Quick I keep a change of clothes for my newborn and toddler. In a Fuel Cell I have a plethora of snacks for my voracious toddler; he likes to eat…a lot! We breastfeed so I don’t need any bottles for my newborn daughter. However, I do keep some breastpads in the front Mommy Pocket of the diaper bags. I always have some chapstick, some spare change, sunscreen, a pen, a First Aid kit (just in case), books, stickers, crayons, a coloring book, and a couple little toys for my toddler.
Overall, I love these two bags, and I really love having options to change it up as needed for our situation. I don’t really like the straps on the BFF, so I’m going to get a Be Right Back in a couple weeks because those are more babywearing friendly, and they hold more than the BFF but the straps are more comfortable.
