I’ll admit it: when we first starting cloth diapering, I was a little daunted at the thought of taking my love of cloth out of our house. I’m sure many people either don’t use cloth at all because of this fear or simply use disposables when they leave the house. We travel very frequently and I really, really don’t like using ‘sposies (from now on I’ll refer to disposables affectionately as ‘sposies). So I sucked it up and refused to use ‘sposies. This was really interesting when we recently flew from South Dakota to Tampa, Florida on vacation for a week.
It was a lot easier than I thought it would be! Of course, we stayed with my brother-in-law and his family so we had a washer and dryer at our disposal (that they very graciously allowed us to use). I brought a lot of cloth diaper safe laundry samples. In my carry-on bag, I even packed my wool dryer balls! My son is notorious for exploding out of ‘sposies when he poops, so I was so happy I could avoid that while away from home. Flushable liners are also a God-send if you’re away from your Spray Pal and diaper sprayer! We love them! Using cloth diapers in any situation is possible, if you make it a priority. But don’t feel bad if you do use ‘sposies for a little while; you can always jump back on the wagon! Where have you used cloth?
